Back in 2013, Columbia participated in an equipment rodeo with three other brands of electric work vehicles. At every obstacle of this testing, Columbia came out the winner. These tests were completed at the request of the rental powerhouse Ahern and its Vice President of Operations, Allen Holland.
The equipment rodeo, along with other testing, resulted in Aherns purchase of 100 Columbia units. Holland stated that he chose Columbia vehicles for a combination of reasons, namely their performance during field testing, competitive pricing, and vehicle features. Columbia also offers customization for rental fleets and other purposes, including custom paint, decaling, laser cut logos, and more!
Its been close to five years since Columbia came out on top, so what continues to make Columbia the rental equipment champion?
Columbias dedication to innovative solutions and equipment that is built for work are key factors in the success of the company. Columbia's versatile line of vehicles include burden carriers, shuttles, stockchasers, and everything in between. Additionally, "Columbia has consistently provided our company a level of quality and confidence we are proud to provide to our customers. We also have found their equipment to be very well received by multiple trades and industries," said Holland.
Aherns rental fleet started with just 100 Columbia units. Today, Ahern houses over 800 Columbia units, an increase of 8 times the original fleet size in only a few short years.
"Over the many years we have grown our business, we have truly learned how important close vendor relationships are. Columbia continues to exceed our expectations with value proposed innovation and integrity throughout their manufacturing and staff. Just having effective follow-up and follow-thru on all communication should be enough, add in all the rest and you have a total solution," stated Holland.
