Arizona State University Continues To Choose Columbia

Being named the #1 University for Innovation in the country for the 3rd consecutive year by U.S. News & World Report, it stands to reason that Arizona State University (ASU) will continue to grow in both enrollment and campus maintenance needs. ASU has been purchasing Columbia vehicles for a number of years to help solve these rapidly growing needs. The campus has approximately 50 Columbia vehicles, which are used primarily for parking, security, maintenance, and grounds. ASU continues to choose Columbia for many reasons, but there are three that stand above the rest - custom upfits, support, and shared views on sustainability.

Custom Upfit

Recently, ASU purchased 7 Journeyman with specialized tool box upfits. These vehicles will be used by ASUs maintenance and grounds crews to haul tools and equipment. The custom upfits were built specifically for the ASU campus to handle all the rough and tumble tasks performed by the grounds and maintenance crews (such as hauling equipment, electrical work, and more). With the additional space and tool protection provided by the tool box upfit and the durable, built-for-work Journeyman vehicle, ASU can rest assured that Columbia is working for them!

Support

As with any piece of equipment, maintenance and repairs are inevitable. However, the amount of time and attention a manufacturer gives to maintenance and repair needs can differ drastically. Columbia wants to ensure that each customer is well taken care of, and that vehicles are repaired and ready to go back to work as quickly and safely as possible. Our certified factory technicians even do onsite preventative maintenance checks throughout the year. One of the main reasons that ASU continues to do business with Columbia is the way in which Columbia supports its product. According to Cheryl Lohman, Operations Manager at ASU, When you treat customers right, they come back and they tell others.

Sustainability

ASU has an unrivaled commitment to sustainability. So much so that the Tempe campus is the most solar-powered of any university in the U.S. That commitment to sustainability shows in ASUs choice of Columbia, as well. Columbia provides the finest 100% electric work vehicles on the market. By driving Columbia, ASU has saved time and money, while reducing its carbon footprint.
